The CHRISTIANA and her sister, BRANDYWINE, both built at Marinette Marine in Marinette, Wisconsin, represent the second owner of this class tug as well as the second and third versions built.  The tug's hull design was conceived to make it easier to build than her larger ATLANTIC II class sisters, yet at 38' beam, the tug can handle as much as 8,000 RPM.

Unlike her sisters, she does not have a full forecastle, but instead a more "traditional" sheer deck boat with a full main deckhouse.

The tugs, like all OT&BE designs, have a spill-proof fuel transfer system, exceptionally large rudders for stellar maneuverability, and a special arrangement of tanks, structure and hull shape that allows the relatively small hull to have excellent stability characteristics, even in higher horsepowers.
